My Top Oils for Pregnancy

I’ve been through 2 pregnancies now from beginning to end with the added help and benefits of essential oils. And let me tell you, I was SO grateful for them each pregnancy! I’ve put together a list of products I used and loved to share with you in hopes of providing solutions to common pregnancy experiences. Go ahead and save this post for a future pregnancy, send to your BFF, or keep reading if you’re just curious to see what I used 😉

As a side note, I’d like to address every pregnancy is beautifully unique and any supplements used should always be discussed with your doctor first!

SLEEP : COPAIBA + FRANKINCENSE

Can we talk about how difficult sleep is during pregnancy? You just get to a point where everything is expanding, your joints are aching, and all you want is a full night’s rest! For me, this became a problem well into the third trimester. Prior to that I couldn’t complain! Once I started experiencing more difficulty falling and staying asleep, I switched up my diffuser blend to create an environment that would support restful sleep. The best combo I found was Copaiba and Frankincense, a couple drops each, diffused through the night. The sweetest slumber began, and even when I had a few nights of waking, I still woke up feeling well rested the next day! Each of these oils have properties that promote feelings of calm and peace through the relaxation of the nervous system. Give it a try and let me know how it improves your rest!

PAIN: DEEPBLUE RUB

There are currently several bottles (I think we’re close to 5?) around our small apartment. I’d say one in each room, honestly! That’s just how much we love this stuff! Pregnancy is no different. Your muscles are working overtime to support an expanding belly growing a tiny human inside of you. Your joints are relaxing, preparing to open for delivery. Your ligaments are carrying more weight. It’s just a lot all at once! Growing pains are normal. I’d apply DeepBlue Rub every.single.night. I couldn’t sleep without it. On my shoulders, my lower back, my feet, my lower belly… just anywhere I was experiencing a little more tension than usual. **Bonus:  ask your partner to give you a foot rub or back massage along with the DeepBlue Rub and it will be even better!

RELAX: AROMATOUCH

Ok, so whether this is your first or fifth pregnancy, we all know there are added stressors, hormones, and challenges in life that can have you feeling quite exhausted at the end of the day. Since wine is no longer an option for an evening unwind, hot showers with AromaTouch it is! This blend has everything you need in life to relax. Peppermint adds a little tingle to the skin, Grapefruit + Lavender smells heavenly and relaxes you, and Basil + Marjoram reduce feelings of tension in your muscles. Add a couple drops to your body wash and lather away! Enjoy spa-like sensations every evening without the spa price tag 😉

SKIN: HYDRATING BODY MIST WITH BEAUTIFUL

First, this smells sooooo good. The Beautiful blend contains Frankincense, Lime, Bergamot and Osmanthus so it not only smells amazing, but it also has the added benefits that come from Frankincense for reducing the appearance of stretch marks. Most days I would pump my lotion in the palm of my hand, spray 4-5 spritz of the body mist, mix, and lather all over. Other days I would spray it directly on my belly, focusing on areas where my mama marks were showing. Relaxing, comforting, and helping my skin stay hydrated! The perfect all-in-one!

There you have it:  my pregnancy essential oil holy grails! But, as you can clearly tell, all of these oils work wonders even when you’re not pregnant. You will find yourself adding these to your self-care routine when you start to experience all their amazing benefits firsthand! Keep taking care of yourself as you grow that precious baby, mama. You’re doing great!

With Love,
